Forum of Abia Democrats Endorses Ifeanyi Ogbonna for Arochukwu/ohafia House of Reps Seat, Hails Him As “Authentic Servant-leader”

_Group Pledges Bulk Votes For NDC Candidate In 2027_

UMUAHIA, Abia State – The Forum of Abia Democrats (FABD) has endorsed Hon. Ifeanyi Elvis Ogbonna for the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, describing him as an “accomplished Nigerian and authentic servant-leader.”

The endorsement was contained in a communique issued on Friday, 22nd August 2026, at the end of the group’s enlarged meeting held at Ojukwu Bunker, Umuahia.

The statement was signed by the Chairman, Surveyor Samuel Kalu, and the Secretary General, Amb. Chinedu Emeruwa.

FABD, whose membership is drawn from the 17 local government areas of Abia State, hailed Hon. Ogbonna’s resilience and commitment to nation-building.

The group noted that the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer has made invaluable contributions towards deepening democracy in Abia State and Nigeria.

“Hon Ifeanyi Elvis Ogbonna has remained committed to public service and also dedicated to the advancement of democratic values in Abia state and larger Nigeria,” the forum stated.

It further noted his continued support for human empowerment, community development, and good governance, adding that he has “continuously demonstrated his desire to contribute to societal building and development, having chaired and coordinated professional bodies effectively and efficiently.”

FABD threw its weight behind Hon. Ogbonna’s National Assembly bid, describing his emergence as the NDC House of Representatives candidate for Arochukwu/Ohafia as “the beginning of a new chapter of progress and purposeful leadership” in the federal constituency.

The forum expressed confidence in his capacity to attract critical infrastructural amenities and projects and to make laws that strengthen democratic institutions.

“Aside from attracting meaningful socio-economic and infrastructural projects across Arochukwu /Ohafia federal constituency, we believe Hon Ifeanyi Elvis Ogbonna equally possessed the wherewithal to pursue and make impactful laws that strengthen all statutory and relevant institutions of democratic governance in Nigeria,” FABD said.

“He has remained a defender of justice and advocate for the rights and welfare of average Nigerians. The confidence and widespread acceptance he enjoys among the electorates in Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency will turn into electoral victory for NDC in the coming general election next year.”

The pro-democracy group pledged to mobilize bulk votes for Hon. Ogbonna to ensure his victory in the 2027 general election as scheduled by INEC.

FABD also urged all eligible Abia citizens to collect and use their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).

“Every eligible Abia citizens should ensure they utilize their permanent voters cards (PVC), because, it is the only weapon and power vested on citizens by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to effect a change in government, and vote in credible people to mount leadership saddle in all levels in the country,” the group stated.
