Yuletide: Abians in North, South Arrive State in Jubilant Mood with Gov Otti’s Free Rides

Abia-indigenes in both the northern and southern part of Nigeria have started arriving home for the Yuletide courtesy of Governor Alex Otti’s free ride.

First to arrive were those living in Lagos southern Nigeria, with those in other states like Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Ekiti, Abuja, Bauchi, Benue, Bornu, Gombe, Nassarawa, Plateau, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Niger, Sokoto, Yobe, set to arrive between today and tomorrow.

According to the Commissioner for Transport Dr Chimezie Ukaegbu, it has become a yearly tradition since the inception of Governor Alex Otti’s administration, to provide free buses for Abians living in other states to return home and celebrate with their families and loved ones.

This year was remarkable as the buses are provided by BRIT Transport, a company owned by an Abia man, reinforcing Governor Otti’s commitment to supporting homegrown businesses.

Dr. Ukaegbu described the governor’s gesture as an open invitation to Abians across within and outside to come home, witness, and identify with the transformational strides of his administration.

The Eagle News reports that those who arrived were singing praises of Governor Alex Otti, with many of them saying that they wouldn’t have returned if not for the free ride they cannot afford the high cost of transportation.
