Eze Linto Preaches Inclusivity for PWDs at his Annual Xmas Launch for Indigents

The Chairman Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Sir Dr Linus Nto Mbah (LINTO) has once again organised a Christmas launch for less privileged individuals across the state.

This is in keeping with his philanthropy and giving a sense of belonging to all sections of society during Yuletide.

Speaking at the event, held at the Eze Udo’s palace, Ata Igbo-ukwu Umuzomgbo-Ihechiowa, Arochukwu LGA, Eze Dr Linus Nto Mbah, emphasised the need for inclusivity for persons with disabilities.

“Every year I give paliatives to people living with Disabilities. That’s what I do every time. It’s purely my own business”.

“By inviting them (the less privileged and physically challenged individuals), they will feel sense of belonging. They feel like human beings they are.

“I feel that they are all completely good to me, despite their challenges. I want to celebrate with them.

“We want to give them that sense of belonging, that they also belong to us. They cannot be neglected”, Eze Mbah stated.

He described the Christmas period as a time to ‘rejoice at the birth of our Lord who came to save us.’

“It’s a time for us to sit together, see old friends, meet new ones, help our neighbours”

Eze Mbah used the opportunity to commend Governor Alex Otti for constructing the Abam/Arochukwu road and the iconic Omenuko Bridge, which have made it easier for those retuning for Christmas celebrations to drive on smooth road.

“Governor Alex Otti is really working very hard. He has constructed the iconic Omenuko bridge, he has constructed the Abam – Arochukwu road.

“If you go to Aba now, at night, you can’t recognize it again. It’s shining everywhere. Street lights everywhere.
I pray God to give him long life and good health, grace and strength to continue his good job in Abia”, Eze Mbah stated.

The monarch further called for inclusivity for persons with disabilities PWDsu, urging government at all levels to ensure inclusiveness in their policies and give sense of belonging to them.

“The government, both at the federal and Local levels should give these individuals, sense of belonging.

“We ask the government to please give them job. We should give them a job. Give them work. Take care of their families”.

The Chairman of the occasion and Mayor of Arochukwu, Dr. Chibuike Ezearu lauded the consistent assistance of Eze Dr Linus Nto Mbah to the indigents, widows and less privileged individuals.

He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of all they are given by the the royal father and prayed God to bless the donor, Eze Linus Mbah.

Responding on behalf of other beneficiaries, the Chairman, Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities , Abia state chapter, Mr. Wisdom Kalu Okechukwu thanked the royal father for his uncommon benovelence to them.

He said that Eze Mbah assembled them last year and hosted them and this time again, he is repeating the gesture.

He appreciated the fact, that Eze Dr Linus Nto Mbah loves the less privileged and prayed God to sustain him with good health.

The Items distributed included bags of rice, salt, clothing materials, wheelchairs, white canes, stretchers, cash among others.

The beneficiaries were drawn from the leadership of the Joint National Association of People Living with Disabilities from the 17 Local Government Areas of Abia state, 500 selected physically challenged persons selected by the leadership of the the Joint National Association of People Living with Disabilities, widows and indigent people in Ihechiowa clan, as well as leadership of special homes in the state.

The event featured presentation of special award to His Royal Majesty, Eze Linus Nto Mbah by the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities Abia state chapter and different dancing and music groups.
