Abia At 35: Green-Amakwe Felicitates Gov. Otti, Abians
Hails Reforms, Africando 2026, Renews Ppp Commitment
The Special Adviser to the Governor of Abia State on Investment Promotion and Public Private Partnership (PPP), High Chief J.N. Green-Amakwe, has congratulated His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, the Government, and the good people of Abia State on the 35th anniversary of the creation of the State.
In a goodwill message issued in Umuahia, High Chief Green-Amakwe described the past 35 years as a journey marked by resilience, enterprise and determination, noting that Abia is currently witnessing a new phase of purposeful leadership, economic transformation and renewed investor confidence under the administration of Governor Otti.
“On behalf of the Office of Investment Promotion and PPP, I join Abians at home and in the diaspora in celebrating this historic milestone. The creation of Abia 35 years ago marked the birth of a distinct identity, and today, that identity is being strengthened through visionary governance, innovation, investment and sustainable development,” he said.
High Chief Green-Amakwe commended the Otti administration for its efforts in economic development, investment promotion and infrastructure renewal, noting that the administration’s focus on improving the business environment is creating a stronger foundation for private-sector participation and sustainable growth.
He particularly highlighted the forthcoming hosting of AFRICANDO 2026 in Abia State as a significant opportunity to showcase the State’s economic potential to the international business community. The U.S.–Africa Trade and Investment Conference and Expo is scheduled to hold in Umuahia from November 17 to 19, 2026, and is expected to bring together businesses, investors, policymakers and development partners from Africa, the United States and other international markets. “AFRICANDO 2026 presents a strategic opportunity to showcase Abia’s vast potential in manufacturing, agriculture and agro-processing, technology, trade and other emerging sectors. It is also an indication of the growing confidence in the New Abia project and the opportunities that exist within our State,” he stated.
The Special Adviser also applauded the administration’s commitment to Public Private Partnerships as a strategic tool for delivering infrastructure, improving public services, attracting private capital and creating employment opportunities for Abia’s young people.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Office of Investment Promotion and PPP to working closely with the Governor and relevant stakeholders to deepen investment promotion, strengthen PPP frameworks and attract credible investors capable of contributing to the State’s long-term development.
High Chief Green-Amakwe further expressed his support for Governor Alex Otti’s quest for a second term in office in 2027, stressing that continuity would be critical to consolidating ongoing reforms and sustaining the development trajectory of the State.
“As Abia celebrates 35 years of existence, we must renew our collective commitment to building a prosperous, investor-friendly and globally competitive State. The Office of Investment Promotion and PPP will continue to open doors for investors, create opportunities for our people and support initiatives that position Abia as a leading destination for investment and economic development in Nigeria,” he concluded.
He wished Governor Otti, the Government and people of Abia State continued peace, progress, prosperity and greater achievements in the years ahead.
