Abia Transport Commissioner Ukaegbu Preaches Safety, Praises Otti’s Road Reforms in New Month Message

Urges Abians To Support Aba Bus Terminal Project, Obey Traffic Rules

UMUAHIA, Abia State – The Honourable Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Chimezie Ukaegbu, has called on residents of Abia State to prioritize safety and orderliness on the roads as the state steps into the new month of September.

In a New Month message issued on behalf of the Ministry of Transport, Dr. Ukaegbu prayed for “renewed strength, safety on our roads, and prosperity in all our journeys” for Abians.

The Commissioner reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to building a transport system that works for every citizen across the 17 Local Government Areas.

“Under the leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, we remain committed to building a transport system that is safe, organised, and works for every Abian — from our traders in Aba to commuters in Umuahia and across the 17 LGAs,” he said.

Dr. Ukaegbu noted that the Otti-led administration is investing heavily in transport infrastructure to ease movement of people and goods and to redefine commerce in the state.

He urged Abians to support key government initiatives, particularly the Aba Bus Terminal project, which he described as central to decongesting the commercial city and bringing order to intra-city transport.

The Commissioner also appealed to motorists, tricycle riders, and commuters to obey traffic rules and cooperate with transport officials to ensure safer roads.

“Let us continue to obey traffic rules, support government initiatives like the Aba Bus Terminal project, and work together for a new Abia,” he added.

Concluding the message, Dr. Ukaegbu wished all Abians a peaceful and prosperous month.
