Abia Govt Donates Two Hilux Vehicles To FRSC, Correctional Service

Says gesture to strengthen operations, improve safety

 

UMUAHIA — Abia State Government has donated two brand-new Toyota Hilux vehicles to Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, and Nigeria Correctional Service, NCS, to strengthen their operations and improve safety of lives and property across state.

Presenting vehicles on behalf of the Government, Special Adviser on Security Matters, Navy Commander MacDonald Ubah (Rtd), said gesture was fulfilment of Governor Otti’s promise to support both agencies.

Ubah urged FRSC to deploy the vehicles to reduce road crashes in state, while calling on Correctional Service to improve supervision of inmates and ensure their timely appearance in court.

Receiving vehicle, Abia FRSC Sector Commander, Ngozi Ezeoma, thanked Governor Otti for the gesture, promising to utilise the vehicle strengthen road safety and reduce fatalities.

Abia Comptroller of Corrections, Blessing Iwuanyanwu, also expressed appreciation, saying support would ease transportation of inmates to court and improve operations of Service.
