Nigeria At 66: South-East Traditional Rulers Chairman Sues For Peace, Tolerance
Lauds Tinubu, Otti, South-East Governors; says killings, kidnapping not vision of founding fathers
UMUAHIA — Chairman, South-East Traditional Rulers Council and Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Dr. Linus Nto Mbah (LINTO), has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Chioma Otti and brother Governors in South-East on 66th Independence Anniversary of Nigeria.
In goodwill message to commemorate Independence Day, Eze Mbah sued for peace in country to enable people uphold visions of founding fathers.

He used occasion to call for tolerance among Nigerians, stressing need for all to see one another as one in order to move country forward.
The Royal father, who regretted mindless killings, kidnapping and pockets of insecurity bedeviling Nigeria, noted these were not visions of founding fathers and maintained that with love and patriotism, challenges would be reduced if not totally eliminated.
Eze Mbah said at 66, Nigeria should be able overcome certain challenges including food insecurity and politics of bitterness, and called for cooperation with governments at all levels to encourage people to embrace agriculture.
He urged politicians to play politics devoid of bitterness, especially as 2027 general elections approach.
The Traditional ruler, who thanked God for relative peace being witnessed in Nigeria, noted that though Nigeria has not achieved all she desires, the nation is certainly no longer at the place she was at Independence.
While appreciating Governor Otti for efforts in delivering dividends of democracy to Abians, particularly in healthcare, education, security, prioritising welfare of workers and pensioners among others, he lauded him for hosting 2026 Igbo Day celebration in Abia State.
Eze Mbah equally saluted leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, led by Senator John Azuta-Mbata, for choosing to hold 2026 Igbo Day celebration in Abia State and encouraged them to live up to theme of event, “Njiko Ka”, by taking unity to be supreme in all they do.
