Nma Onwuka-Okereke Takes Final Bow Amidst Glowing Tributes

It was an outpouring of tributes and eulogies as the remains of ace broadcaster, Ozioma Onwuka-Okereke was laid to rest at her hometown Obinkita Arochukwu in Arochukwu LGA Abia State.

In a sermon at the service, the Presbyter and Administrator, Wesley Methodist Church, Crowder by Umuwaya, Very Rev. Aaron Akabukwu charged Christians to live a life that counts positively in the sight of God and man.

Speaking on the Topic: “Living a Life that Makes Sense in the Sight of God,” while urging people to live righteously, identified union with God, Obedience, and living with eternity in view as three ways to have a life that makes sense in God’s sight.

In their testimonies, colleagues of the deceased at Zik FM including Uzoma Okpo, Chidi Asonye described their late Ozioma as a committed worker.

They noted that her kind was irreplaceable, adding that she was perfectionist.

Asonye who is the Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Abia state Council, said that late Mma Ozioma Okereke would be missed by Unity Federated Chapel, Zik FM staff, Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, Methodist Church, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists NAWOJ, friends and well wishers.

Responding on behalf of the family of Mazi Alvan Anicho Okereke, Mrs Naomi Okoli thanked all who came to join them bid farewell to their sister and wished them well as they departed to their various destinations.

Nma Ozioma Okereke, who died at the age of 62, was until her demise on August 27, 2025, the Station Manager of Zik FM Umuahia.

The funeral was well attended by people from all walks of life including the Chairman of Zik FM Umuahia, Mazi Ugochukwu Okoroafor.
