Mr Football Hails Abia Warriors On Hard-fought Victory, Salutes Obuh
Former Abia State Director of Sports, Mr Ejikeme Ikwunze, has congratulated Abia Warriors Football Club on the hard-fought victory over Ikorodu City Football Club in the Matchday 35 fixture of the Nigeria Premier Football League, decided at Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.
Umu Chineke dug deep to overcome the hard-fighting Oga Boys from Lagos 2-1 in a crucial encounter that will shape the Continental aspirations of both sides.
Speaking after the encounter, Mr Ikwunze, who once served as the Chairman of Abia Warriors, congratulated the team for the victory, noting that wins of such nature are forged by character,
He maintained that the Umuahia-based side will need to demonstrate the same character in battles to come.
The football encyclopedia, popularly known as Mr Football because of his deep knowledge of the round leather game, also lauded the Chairman of Abia Warriors, Coach John Sam Obuh, for his exemplary leadership, which, he noted, has transformed the club, and encouraged him to sustain the structure and culture now driving the team’s resurgence.
He reserved special commendations for the club’s Media Officer, Solomon Igwe, for his passion, dedication and commitment in projecting the club’s image and telling the Warriors’ story with clarity and professionalism.
Mr Football wished the club well in their immediate and future endeavours, and prayed that the discipline and unity within the team would continue to yield glory on and off the pitch.
