Another Nigerian Head of State Died in July
Abia State Governor Alex Otti (OFR), has graciously approved the laying of wreath on the tomb of H.E. Maj-General J.T.U. Aguiyi-Ironsi, (GCFR) first military Head of State, and Supreme Commander.
An Abian and son of Nigeria he passed away on July 29th 1966 under “tragic circumstances along with his host Lt. Col. Fajuyi M.C., Governor of Western Region.
His first son Ambassador High Chief Thomas Aguiyi-Ironsi, CON, former Minister of Defence will lay the wreath on behalf of the immediate family, and well wishers in Nigeria and worldwide. An invitation was also extended to H.E. Senator Hope Uzodinma, Governor of Imo State.
Prayers will be offered for the repose of his soul, and for peace in Nigeria. It is rumoured that Amb. Aguiyi-Ironsi may be given Ambassadorial appointment to Switzerland or made a special envoy by President Bola Tinubu.
