Chief Ike Enyioma Ibe in attendance as Labour Party Elects New Leadership at Umuahia Convention

Chief Ike Enyioma Ibe was among Labour Party stalwarts from Abia State that attended the 2026 Elective National Convention of the party held at the International Conference Centre Umuahia, Abia State.

The convention, attended by over one thousand delegates, produced Dr. Nenadi Usman as the National Chairman, with Hon. Iheanacho Obioma as National Secretary.


Speaking to newsmen in an interview, Chief Ibe congratulated the newly elected National Working Committee NWC of the party, describing their emergence as a new dawn for the party.

He extolled the efforts of Governor Alex Otti in galvanizing and unifying the Labour Party through its leadership crisis.

Chief Ibe urged the new party leaders to uphold the values of the party while delivering on their responsibilities to members and supporters nationwide.

Chief Ike spoke on the preparedness of the Labour Party to contest the 2027 election, emphasising that the party stood a good chance in winning more positions in the coming general election.

“As you can see, the Labour Party is well prepared. Labour Party has gone through all the processes and now we are organized as one party,” he said.

“Apart from all the litigation that is going on, Labour Party is in a good position to take its place in the international arena.”
