UMUAHIA – In politics, clarity is power. And on the day the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, unveiled Dr. Kalu Chukwuemeka Israel as its candidate for Ikwuano State Constituency, Abia State House of Assembly, that clarity arrived.

The ceremony in Umuahia did more than hand over a party flag. It settled weeks of speculation. It named a face. It gave Ndị Ikwuano a credible, reliable personality to rally behind ahead of the 2027 elections.

For a constituency that prides itself on justice, fairness and rotation, the unveiling was not just a party formality. It was the beginning of a conversation about the kind of representation Ikwuano wants next.

A Candidate With Conviction!

Dr. Kalu comes into the race with the calm confidence of a man who believes service is not about noise, but about results. In his first remarks as the NDC flag bearer, he spoke less about himself and more about the people: jobs for the youth, functional healthcare, quality education, better roads, and water.

“My victory,” Dr. Kalu said, “is for the greater good of the entire Ikwuano LGA.”
