MOUAU to Refund NELFUND Fees Paid by Affected Students
Vice-Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), Prof. Ursula Ngozi Akanwa, has directed the refund of school fees to students who paid before receiving the Federal Government’s Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
Prof. Akanwa announced the decision during the inauguration and swearing-in of the university’s newly elected Students’ Union Government (SUG), disclosing that the institution’s Bursar had been instructed to begin processing refunds for eligible students.
She said the move is intended to ensure that students who settled their fees before the NELFUND disbursement are not denied the benefits of the loan scheme.
The Vice-Chancellor also urged students to complete their course registration promptly after resuming for the 2026/2027 academic session, noting that early registration would enable the university to commence academic activities without delays.
She further charged the new SUG executives to provide responsible leadership and work closely with the university management to promote peace and advance students’ welfare.
