Abia Police Burst Criminal Hideout, Arrest Notorious Drug Dealer In Isiala Ngwa North

UMUAHIA — The Abia State Police Command has burst a criminal hideout and arrested a notorious drug dealer at Ahiabubi in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area.

The suspect was identified as Prince Chukwudi Eguzouwa, 49, of Ahiabubi.

In a press release signed by Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka, the Command said operatives of the Violent Response Unit and Anti-Cultism Unit acting on actionable intelligence carried out a well-coordinated raid on criminal hideouts at Ahiabubi on September 18, 2026.

During the operation, bags containing substances suspected to be Cannabis Sativa, “Scottish Loud,” Methamphetamine, Cocaine and other hard drugs were recovered.

According to the statement, the operation was in line with the directive of Commissioner of Police, CP Wilfred Afolabi, on intelligence-led raids to ensure the state is no dwelling place for criminal hideouts, and in alignment with the vision of Inspector-General of Police on intelligence-led policing.

The police said upon conclusion of investigations, the suspect was arraigned in court on September 22, 2026, and remanded in a correctional facility.

CP Afolabi reiterated the Command’s commitment to intelligence-driven policing and warned criminal elements to desist from unlawful activities or face full weight of the law, stressing that Abia State will no longer be a safe haven for criminal activities.
