Constituents Storm Abia APC Office, Warn Against Imposition of Candidate

Members of the All Progressive Congress, APC from Bende North constituency, have appealed to the leadership of the party to ensure that the rightful winner of the House of Assembly primary election is not denied the victory.

The APC members who made the appeal at APC office in Umuahia on Wednesday, cautioned against any plan to impose a an unpopular candidate on the Bende North constituency.

According to the Bende North members, Hon Ngozi Vivian Orji whom they said won 4 out of the 7 Wards during the primary election, should be allowed to represent the constituency.

They further expressed worry that an aspirant who they said did not win the election, was going around declaring himself the winner.

Also speaking on the matter, a former Aid to the former Minister of State for Science and Technology, Hon. Obinna Mba cautioned that there may be civil disobedience in Bende North if the person that did not win election is announced the winner.

Mba, an APC chieftain also cautioned that the chances of the APC may be negatively affected in the Bende North constituency if the person who won the primary election through the popular will of the people, is not given her mandate.

He appealed to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Deputy Speaker Hon. Benjamin Kalu, the Chairman of Abia APC Hon. Chijioke Chukwu to use intervene so that the right winner will not be robbed of her mandate.

Apart from this, Hon. Mba said that it is the turn of Hon. Ngozi Orji’s section of Bende North to produce the House of Assembly.
