YPP Governorship Candidate for Abia Resigns from Party

The Governorship Candidate of Young Progressives Party [YPP] in Abia State in 2019, Joseph Ngozi Nkoro (Ngozi Abia 2019) has announced his resignation from the party.
In a dated February, 18, 2025 and addressed to the Ward Chairman of YPP for Igwebuike Ward, Aba South Local Government Area, Nkoro said the resignation takes immediate effect.
He expressed appreciation to the party leadership at both State and national as well as members for the trust, collaboration and support received over the years.
Nkoro pointed out that he would remain committed to the principles of democracy, development and service of the nation.
Elaborating further on his Facebook page, the 2019 YPP Governorship Candidate, maintained that “The weighty this decision may be, it was made with love and respect for the Party and all she stands for.”
“I want to use this opportunity to thank You, the members of the party at National and State levels for your immense support during my time as the Governorship candidate and Party leader in Abia State. The lessons and experiences over the years have been profound.
“Special mention goes to Hon Uzodinma Nwoko -The founding Chairman of the party in the State- Although the treatment meted out to you in the Party has been shabby in my opinion, your faith in the party remains rock solid. Your character is peerless.
“2nd Mention goes to Elder Ben Nwoko, Grand Patron of the State party. Thank you for your firm believe that the Youth can make huge positive difference in leadership. I hold you in high esteem, Chief.
“Finally, I will not fail to mention all the Young Progressives party – YPP – Abia State and LGA excos 2018/2019 and every member of the Party at State and LGA level till date. God bless you all.”
