Working for God Carries Eternal, Generational Blessings – Archbishop

The Methodist Archbishop of Aba Diocese, Most Rev Geoffrey Agupusi says it is a great privilege for anyone to work for God because it carries eternal and generational blessings.

Agupusi said this at the N500 million development fund launch and 25th anniversary of the Methodist High School, Ogbor Hill, Aba.

The cleric said that although God loved David and called him “a man after His heart”, God did not give David the privilege of building a house for Him.

“It is only God, who decides who qualifies to do His work and everyman, who has the opportunity to work for God should do it without withholding anything.

“If in the days of old, we thought it a great honour to go on errands or serve our school teachers, how much honourable should we count enlisting to serve God our Creator.

“If David was not found worthy to build for God but He finds you worthy today to build for him a place for the revival of morality and good character, of children who would lead with the fear of God, you are greatly privileged.

“If God has placed this factory, this school for the training of children who would change our society in your hands, don’t reject it because you shall have a great reward for it,” he said.

He said that after the creation of man in His image, God handed further development of the earth into man’s hand and commanded him to dominate other creatures.

He said that there was no other creature God commanded to continue the work he was doing except man hence everyone should join in God’s work.

The Chairman of the occasion, Mr Ike Onyechere said it was important to thank God for the school, which had changed the lives of youths, who attended it.

Onyechere, who is the Founding Chairman, Exams Ethics Marshals International, thanked all the past archbishops and priests, teachers and parents who had contributed in upgrading the institution to its current standard.

He said although much needed to be done in the school, it would be achieved with better funding and called for every person of goodwill to contribute to make the school better and greater.

Many dignitaries attended the event includes the Proprietor of Crunchies Fast-foods, Mazi Jude Nwosu, the Chairman, Aba North Local Government, Mr Timothy Iheke and his Aba South counterpart, Obilor Anyanwu, among others.
