Uko Nkole Formally Joins ADC, as Party Inaugurates MMRR Committee for Arochukwu LGA

A former member of the House of Representatives for Ohafia/Arochukwu Federal Constituency, Hon. Uko Nkole, has formally registered as a member of the African Democratic Congress in the party’s ongoing membership registration and mobilisation exercise.

The event coincided with the inauguration of a seven-man ADC membership mobilisation rehabilitation and registration (MMRR) for Arochukwu LGA as well as five-member at the ward level.

Nkole, who completed his registration at his hometown in Ozu Abam, in Arochukwu LGA of Abia State, on Monday, said that the ADC has the capacity to wrestle power from the ruling All Progressives Congress APC.

According to the former lawmaker the party’s ideology will reverse the hardship unleashed on the people of Nigeria by the ruling APC.

“APC policies have unleashed hardship on the people. I’m a people-oriented politician,” Nkole said.

“I’m a grassroots person. And in the grassroots, you don’t dare talk about what is not obtainable. So APC has unleashed hardship.

“I don’t celebrate hardship. So I believe that they still have time, you know, to correct themselves. But I don’t pray for them to correct themselves before 2027.”

Nkole who also was a senatorial aspirant for the PDP in the 2023 general election spoke on his reasons for joining the ADC

“I believe they (ADC) have an ideology that will refract the hardship unleashed on the people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Right from the choice of the national chairman of the party, Senator David Mark, a ranking Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, his maturity, all of you will attest to that, in the 6th and 7th National Assembly, where a lot of things happened, prosperity was shared.

“So I believe that with his leadership and his style, based on his trajectory, he will still give that purposeful leadership to ADC to win elections and also give a direction, a state policy that will change the lot of the masses. So I believe in his leadership and I believe in what he has done yesterday and what he will be able to do tomorrow. So it’s a very obvious example that one should be happy to join such a political gathering,” he noted.

Speaking at the flag-off of ADC MMRR for Arochukwu LGA and inauguration of registration officers of the party, Nkole urged them to go into all the nooks and crannies of the community to canvas for membership of the ADC.

He noted the 2026 electoral act as amended, recognises every party member as a delegate and urged the committee members to push for more membership for the party in Arochukwu LGA and Abia State at large.

Inaugurating the committee, a Representative of the MMRR, Chief Lawrence Okorie while noting that there would be no congress without registration, urged them to do an excellent job by dedicating themselves to the course of the party.

Chief Okorie reminded party members to visit the respective wards after the registration to authenticate their membership.

In an interview with newsmen, the acting State Chairman of ADC in Abia State, Mazi Kalu O. Kalu said that the revalidation and registration was necessary to upscale the party’s membership in Abia State and Nigeria at large.

Responding on behalf of the MMRR Committee, chairman Paul Nkole assured that his members would ensure that ADC would be rooted in Arochukwu LGA.
