Otti Commences Grassroots Engagement to Assess Govt Impact on Communities

In a strategic move to deepen grassroots governance, Abia state Governor Alex Otti has commenced community engagements in communities across the state

The meeting is aimed at eliciting firsthand information on the impact of government policies and programmes on communities in the state.

Speaking during the engagement on Saturday, at Agburuke Community Primary School, Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Governor Alex Otti reaffirmed his commitment to people-centered governance.

The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, described the engagement as part of deliberate efforts by the administration to deepen grassroots inclusion.

“This is essentially a community engagement designed to connect directly with the people,” he said.

“Our administration has redefined governance in Abia state through a holistic vision and inclusive policies.

“What we are doing is to visit communities, interface with them, and evaluate how these policies are impacting their daily lives, Gov. Otti stated.

The Governor noted that the exercise provides an opportunity for government to move beyond assumptions and obtain authentic feedback from the grassroots.

He expressed satisfaction at the overwhelming testimonies from residents, who pointed to visible developmental projects and improvements in their communities.

“It is gratifying to hear directly from the people. Their responses are genuine and heartfelt. These are not people you can influence to speak otherwise.

“They have clearly identified projects and confirmed that governance has truly reached the grassroots under this administration.”

Otti, who highlighted ongoing projects in the area, including road constructions, assured that all projects initiated by his government across the state would be completed in record time.

He used the opportunity to sensitise residents on the importance of obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the forthcoming registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Earlier, community leaders, including Dr. Sir Jesse Odu, President General of Agburuke Nsulu Development Association, Hon. Oji Ikechukwu, and Mrs. Ngozi Israel, endorsed Governor Alex Otti for a second term in office.

According to them, their people are united in support of Governor Otti, and are poised to vote for him and members of his party in 2027.

They lauded the developmental strides of the Governor, describing them as visible and impactful adding that ,the evidence of good governance is everywhere.

The people further thanked the Governor for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of responsiveness and accessible governance,

They appreciated the efforts towards the mass participation in civic processes, including PVC registration and National Identification Number (NIN) enrollment and assured of the full participation of members of the community.

The Governor’s representative later inspected the dilapidated buildings of the Agburike Community Primary School which the state government would be reconstructing.
