Mrs Otti Reiterates Need for Regular Eye Check As Women Optometrists Take Free Vision Screening to Olokoro
The wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs Priscilla Otti has reiterated the need for regular eye check to ensure a healthy sight.
Mrs Otti stated this at Ahiaukwu civic hall Olokoro, Umuahia during a free Vision screening outreach organised by Women Optometrists in Nigeria WON in conjunction with the first lady of Abia State.

Mrs Otti noted that regular eye check helps to early dictation in the case of any defect in that eye that requires attention.
Represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr Mrs Maureen Aghukwa, the Governor’s wife pointed out that Glaucoma occurs without any signs,
She frowned at a situation where people suddenly report to hospital for eye treatment when the doctors cannot restore their sight, and cautioned against attributing eye problems to evil transfered from their enemies.
Speaking also, the Chairman of Women Optometrists Association of Nigeria, WON Abia State chapter, Dr. Mary Ademola they were in Abia State for their annual conference noting the medical outreach is one of their programmes in such visits.
She urged the people of Olokoro to sustain their support for Governor Alex Otti and reminded them to do the needful during election so that this good work of her excellency and her team will continue.
Dr. Ademola said they are targeting up to 300 patients in the free eye treatment, adding that they derive joy in touching people’s lives for good.
Responding, the President General of Olokoro Women’s Federation, Lady Emily Ugwu thanked the women optometrists for the gesture and called on other associations to emulate them.
The free eye medical outreach, featured among others, vision screening, dispensing of Ocular drugs, dispensing of Ophthalmic glasses, and counseling.
