GADA Obeying Court Order in Enforcing Action against Enyimba TV, Radio

The Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA) has reiterated its commitment to the rule of law in enforcing action against Enyimba TV and Radio Station.

GADA was responding to what it described as “the recent developments concerning an illegal building located at the premises of Enyimba TV and Radio Station.”

In a statement signed by Chibuzo Amaechi, Head of Information Unit/ PRO, traced the history to 2024, when GADA sealed the said property for violating building regulations.

“Following this action, a court injunction was issued directing all parties to maintain the status quo,” the statement said, adding that the GADA team, in strict compliance with the injunction, has not visited the site for the past three months.

The statement however, regretted that the owner of the property ‘unlawfully unsealed the premises and proceeded with construction in clear disregard of the court’s directive.

The statement continued:
“As a responsible government institution committed to upholding the rule of law, GADA promptly reported this act of contempt ex facie curiae to the Nigerian Police Force, requesting their intervention.

“On August 12, 2025, officers of the Nigerian Police visited the site to enforce the law. This operation was carried out peacefully, with no incidents of assault, harassment, or arrest.”

The GADA management, while reiterating that the action is not a witch-hunt against any individual or organisation, insisted that its objective remains to ensure compliance with due process and the law.

“Nobody is above the law, and all actions taken are guided solely by our mandate to protect public interest and uphold legal standards,” the statement maintained.
