Coalition: Abia ADC Appoints New Scribe, Backs David Mark as National Chairman

The African Democratic Congress, (ADC) in Abia State has appointed Dr Okey Ezeala, as the interim State Secretary even as it reaffirmed Deacon Iyke Nwoke as the interim State Chairman.

This is as it has thrown its weight behind the decisions of its former NWC led by Chief Ralph Nwosu that ushered in the coalition ADC with Sen. David Mark as Interim National Chairman

The decision was contained in ten-point communique issued at the end of a meeting of the Stakeholders of the Coalition ADC in Abia State, held at the party secretariat in Umuahia.

The communique is sighed by the party’s 2023 Governorship candidate, Bishop Sunday Onuoha, Sen. Austin Akobundu, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe and Deacon Iyke Nwoke, among others

The party reaffirmed itself as one political family in Abia State, under Bishop Sunday Onuoha as the State Leader, affirming its unity across all organs and structures of Abia ADC, even before the coalition era.

The stakeholders agreed that the State executive meetings would be held for the purposes of ratifying critical decisions of the interim State working committee until the National leadership conducts nationwide congresses.

It further informed that going forward, it shall maintain its existing State ADC secretariat and inherit all the party assets and liability.

They, however, frowned at some politicians who have remained in their old political parties while still claiming to be members of the ADC coalition.

The party maintained that the only valid means of joining the coalition ADC is by registering at the ward level and identifying with the interim leadership, and not (by) grandstanding or social media speculation.”

In an interview, the interim State Chairman, Iyke Nwoke, disclosed many politicians in Abia State are queuing up to join the ADC Coalition, insisting that his party is not factionalised in the state.
