Abia Warriors Battle Enugu Rangers in Oriental Derby

After their impressive victory over Kwara United Football Club in Ilorin, Abia Warriors have turned attention to the rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League fixture against Oriental brothers, Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.

The Warriors have arrived in Enugu, venue of the all-important clash, and the Umuahia warlords will look to consolidate their ascendency.

It promises to be an exciting and intriguing encounter given that the Warriors’ gaffer, Imama Amapakabo, won the league title with Rangers in 2016 .

It will also be a reunion of Emeka Obioma of Abia Warriors with Godwin Obaje, who now plays for Rangers International, both of whom had almost 30 goal involvements for Abia Warriors when they featured for Umu Chineke in the 2020/2021 season.

So far in the league, the Warriors have averaged 0.8 goals (scored) per game and 0.3 goals conceded, whereas the Flying Antelopes have averaged 0.3 goals (scored) and 0.3 goals conceded.

The Warriors are in 3rd position with 12 points in the league table after six games, while the Flying Antelopes are occupying the 13th position with eight points after the same number of games.
