A three-day training programme organised by the Abia State Ministry of Transport for Vehicle Inspection Officers VIOs has ended in Umuahia with a charge on them to continue being ambassadors of road safety and efficiency.

The State Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Chimezie Isaac Ukaegbu, in his closing remarks enjoined the officers make the impact of the training applicable in their actions and service to the public.

Dr. Ukaegbu explained that the training covered key areas vital to their duties, including regulatory updates, vehicle inspection protocols, customer relations and the use of modern tools as well as technologies in road traffic management.

“Over the past three days, we have shared knowledge, ideas, and strategies aimed at strengthening road safety, enhancing professionalism, and improving the quality of service delivery in our state,” Dr Ukaegbu said.

“It is our hope that you are leaving this program not just with new knowledge, but with a renewed sense of purpose and responsibility.

“The task ahead is clear: to apply what you’ve learned here to your daily work, uphold the highest standards of discipline and integrity, and serve the people of Abia State with excellence.”

The Transport Commissioner thanked them for their dedication, active participation, and commitment to continuous learning, and expressed hope that the knowledge gained will contribute to a safer, more organized transport system in Abia State.
