Abia NUJ Presents Plaque of Recognition to Transport Commissioner, Ukaegbu

The planning committee of the 1st Abia NUJ Agric Show yesterday presented the plaque of recognition to the Abia State Commissioner for Transport, Dr Chimezie Ukaegbu.

The recognition is for the Ministry’s contribution to food security and development of Agriculture through movement of Agric produce from point of production to points of need.

Receiving the award in his office alongside the Permanent Secretary, Dr Chimezie Ukaegbu expressed gratitude to Abia NUJ for recognising the contribution of the Dr Alex Otti administration in Agriculture and food production.

Ukaegbu promised on behalf of the State government to do more for the State in road infrastructure including rural roads to make easy evacuation of farm produce.

Presenting the plaque, Chairman of 1st Abia NUJ Agric Show, Ezeji Kalu Eziyi commended Governor Alex Otti for his developmental strides especially in road infrastructure that has enabled farmers move their goods from their farms to points of needs.

Elder Eziyi noted that the Ministry of Transport as partners in the Agric Show has continued to play vital roles in food security and sufficiency in the State.

The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Transport, Jane Olanma Awa, members of the Agric Show Committee including the Secretary, Imeremba Imeremba, Divine Nwankwo and Henrietta Ashikodi witnessed the presentation.
