Abia FRSC Confirms Four Dead in Ntigha Auto Accident
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Abia has confirmed four persons, including a child, died in an auto accident which occured at Ntigha, Isiala Ngwa North Tuesday morning.
The confirmation came through the FRSC PRO, Kelechi Igbonekwu on Wednesday afternoon.
He said the accident claimed the lives of one female child and three adult females.
He said 14 persons were injured, with nine being adult males and five adult females.
He said seven of the injured persons were taken to Chinonye Hospital in Nbawsi, Isiala Ngwa North LGA while the rest moved to St. Theresa’s Hospital, Ubakala, Umuahia South LGA.
Igbonekwu said the accident happened around 11 : 40 am at Ntigha, along Enugu Port Harcourt Road in Abia.

He said the lone accident involved an 18-Seater Hiace bus whose burst tyre caused it to summersault into a nearby bush.
Igbonekwu said the commercial vehicle’s registration number is NO:MBA 124 XB.
A source who identified simply as Chinaza, near the scene of the accident told our Correspondent that the vehicle left Ebonyi state to Aba in Abia that morning.
She said there was a loud bang from a burst tyre which caused the vehicle to somersault causing fatalities.
Another source said the Abia State Emergency Response Team, led by Obioma Analaba, helped to rescue and evacuate the victims to nearby hospitals.
