Akomas Pledges to Work with Stakeholders in APC for Nigeria, Abia’s Progress
National Chairman of Forum of Former Deputy Governors of Nigeria, Dr. Chris Akomas has pledged to work with other stakeholders in the All Progressives Congress in Abia State and Obingwa Local Government Area for the progress of Nigeria, Abia and indeed Obingwa LGA.
This, he said, is to ensure that the dividends of democracy get down to the grassroots.

Dr. Akomas was speaking at his country home, Nenu in Obingwa, where he received those who decamped from other political parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the area, into the ruling APC.
He had insisted that the forerunners of the APC, which he described as an amalgamation of political parties , meant well for the Nigerian citizens.
According to the former deputy governor of Abia State, the ruling party, is not just the biggest political party in the country, but also, a party that is very strategic, and which cares so much about inclusiveness.

Those who decamped, include the Abia State House of Assembly member, representing Obingwa West, Hon. Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, who crossed over alongside former Obingwa LGA Chairman, Hon. George Ubani; Hon. Chikezirim Monday Orji; and over 5,000 supporters, in what stakeholders described as a major boost for the APC in Abia State.
Welcoming them, Dr. Akomas called for unity of purpose at all times in the quest to serve humanity and further develop the country’s democracy.
He noted that Erondu Jnr who is the House Committee Chairman on Public Service Matters, was a foundation member of the APC in Abia, having served as the party’s first Administrative Secretary in the state alongside Chief Nyerere Chinenye Anyim, its pioneer National Vice Chairman from Abia.
Dr. Akomas extended his heartfelt appreciation to the legislator for heeding the clarion call to join the APC even as he expressed confidence that his return would help strengthen the party’s structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking earlier, the lawmaker representing Obingwa-West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, pledged to sustain his record of effective representation and urged the people of Obingwa, Abia State, the South-East and Nigeria to support the APC.
He extolled the former Federal Commissioner who represented the State at the Revenue Allocation Mobilization and Fiscal Commission in Abuja for all his efforts in bringing them together and pursuing a common front, to attract development to the area.
Prominent members of the ruling APC who were in attendance during the event included Chief Sam Nkire, a member of the party’s Board of Trustees; Chief Nyerere Chinenye Anyim, erstwhile Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Christopher Enweremadu.
Others are Hon. Uche Nwankpa, Sir Ebere Nwachukwu, and Elder Godwin Nnah ; Hon. Aaron Uzodike; among others even as highlight of the occasion was the handing over of the broom and the APC flag to those who decamped.
