World Malaria Day: Dr Oluebube Chukwu Calls for Concerted Efforts to End Disease in Nigeria

As Abia joins the rest of the globe to commemorate the World Malaria Day today, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Alex Otti on Due Process, Dr Oluebube Chukwu has called for concerted efforts towards to ending the disease.

Dr. Chukwu who was lending his voice to the call to prevent the disease, regretted that Malaria is preventable and curable but has continued to claim lives, especially in vulnerable communities.

According to him: “Today, we raise our voices to spread awareness, promote prevention, and support the global fight to end this disease once and for all.”

He advocated preventable measures as identified by the World Bank to include: sleeping under mosquito treated nets, clearing of stagnant water as well as seeking treatment early.

The Head, Due Process and Public Procurement Bureau in Abia state was optimistic that with the effort from all concerned, Malaria can be made history.
