Otti Effects Minor Cabinet Reshuffle as Two New Commissioners take Oath of Office

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has effected some minor cabinet reshuffle following the swearing in of two new Commissioners in the State.

The new arrangement sees one of the newly inaugurated Commissioners,
Mrs. Salome Obiukwu deployed to the Ministry of Trade and Commerce replacing Mr. Kingsley Nwokocha who has been moved to Labour and Productivity in place of the late Sunny Onwuma.

The Governor announced the splitting of the Ministry of Lands and Housing into two separate Ministries, leaving Mr. Chaka Chukwumerije to man the Lands Ministry while deploying the other new Commissioner, Chiemela Uzoije to Housing.

Addressing the new cabinet members, Otti urged them to bring fresh energy, commitment, and integrity to the service of the State.

He described the appointments as part of his strategy of periodically injecting fresh ideas to enrich the quality and broaden the scope of his administration’s performance.

The Governor, who congratulated the trio for scaling through the rigorous nomination and screening process, reminded them of his administration’s zero-tolerance policy on corruption

He emphasised the need for the new officials to quickly settle into their roles, urged all appointees to work as a team to deliver quality leadership and measurable improvements in the lives of Abians.

Responding on behalf of the new appointees, the Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Mrs. Salome Obiukwu, expressed gratitude to the Governor for finding them fit to serve the State, assuring that they would discharge their duties creditably.

The Eagle News reports that Prince Christian Enweremadu was also sworn-in as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture.
