Ọrọ-ibere Road: Prince Atuma Hails President Tinubu, NDDC, Others for Flagging off Construction

An illustrious son of Iberenta and a Prince in the Community, Prince Pascal Ejikeme Atuma has thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for awarding the contract for the emergency erosion control and construction of Iberenta-Iyalu Ọrọ-ibere road.

Prince Atuma sent the thank you message following the successful flagoff of the construction work on the road held Friday last week, September 19, 2025 at the palace of Eze Ijenwa in Iberenta Ọrọ-ibere Autonomous Community.

The veteran film maker and FIFA licensed agent, while recalling that his people had “suffered the adverse effects of bad roads’ since 1960, with no government attention, was full of praises for President Tinubu and the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC for listening to the cry of Ọrọ-ibere Autonomous Community.

He further thanked many other individuals whom he said, contributed in one way or another to making the dreams of Ọrọ-ibere Autonomous Community to become a reality.

“Iberenta, Ọrọ-ibere Autonomous Community, Ikwuano LGA, Abia State”

Since 1960, our people have suffered the adverse effects of bad roads, and no government since then listened to us.

Last Friday, the 19th day of September 2025, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu APC led government, finally heard our cry, and flagged off the construction of Iyalu-Iberenta Ọrọ-ibere road.

I am very grateful to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Commissioner representing Abia State on the NDDC board Chief Eruba Dimgba, Chief Ben Godson, Chief Chinedu Kanu, Eze Stanley Ijenwa, the contractor handling the project, Sir Ako Obioma (CEO- Worldwide Environmental Technology Limited).

I am also grateful that our former member of House of Representatives, Hon. Sam Onuigbo sent Evangelist Abraham Osondu to represent him. Others present were the Deputy Mayor of Ikwuano LGA, Honorable Lucky Awuwa and many other dignitaries that attended the historic occasion.

I must not fail to recognize the efforts of Chief Chinedu Kanu and my brothers, Dr. Oscar Atuma, Nicholas Atuma, Stanley Atuma and my wife Suraya Issa-Atuma in pursuing this project that we started exactly March 30, 2023.

Also I must recognize the efforts of the former President of Iberenta Development Union in Diaspora, Mr Christian Ojigbo and his Deputy Mr. Zacky Ugochukwu, Barrister Chukwuemeka Ukazu, Mr Ejikeme Pablo Elendu, Mr Imeremba M. Imeremba, Elder Sylvanus Madu, Mrs Marbel Igbo, Mr Lucky Mpama and all the members of the Iberenta Development Union in Diaspora and those at home. Together, we can always climb any mountain.
