Gunmen Attack Gov. Otti’s Advance Team

An advance team from the Office of the Governor Alex Otti of Abia State came under attack in the early hours of Tuesday, December 2, 2025, along the Umuowa–Ihite axis in Imo State.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, confirmed the development in a statement.

According to him, the three-member team was travelling to the Sam Mbakwe Airport when unidentified gunmen attacked their vehicle shortly before the Airport junction.

The statement however debunked insinuations that Governor Otti’s convoy was attacked as it was not part of the movement at the time of the incident adding no lives were lost.
