Abia Govt Reaffirms Commitment to Open Partnerships with Abians in Diaspora

The Abia State Government has reiterated its unwavering commitment to fostering strategic partnerships with Abians in the diaspora.

This assurance was made by the Executive Secretary, Abia State Diaspora Commission, Rev. Dr. Annie Onu, during an interactive meeting with members of Nzuko Ndi Abia N’ Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom.

Rev. Dr. Onu emphasized the resolve of the Governor Alex Otti administration to explore and identify key areas of collaborations for mutual benefits of both the state and its diaspora community.

She noted that Governor Alex Otti has prioritized infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, technology, and security as central pillars of his administration’s development agenda.

Highlighting the improved security landscape in the state, Rev. Dr. Onu declared Abia open and safe for investment, urging Abians in the diaspora to align with the Governor’s vision of building a New Abia.

The Executive Secretary called for sustained unity, love, and commitment, stressing the importance of continuously projecting and promoting Abia’s image globally.

She further reiterated the government’s commitment to protecting and supporting Abians across the globe.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of Nzuko Ndi Abia N’ Aberdeen, Mazi Ugochukwu Iheukwumere, expressed gratitude to Governor Otti for his remarkable development strides in Abia and for appointing a vibrant and capable leader like Rev. Dr. Onu as the Executive Secretary of the Diaspora Commission.

Iheukwumere reaffirmed the association’s full support for the government’s efforts and emphasized the significance of the meeting as a symbol of the growing synergy between the state government and its diaspora community.

In his vote of thanks, the Secretary of Nzuko Ndi Abia N’ Aberdeen, Mazi Chinedu Ezek, expressed gratitude to the Governor for restoring Abia’s image on the global map as a secure and investment-friendly state.

He also lauded the appointment of Rev. Dr. Onu and assured their unwavering support to vision of a New Abia. Mazi Ezek underscored that the strengthened ties between the government and the diaspora community are laying a solid foundation for collaborative development and shared progress of a New Abia.

The interactive meeting, which featured a robust Questions & Answer session, was well attended by executive members and members of Nzuko Ndi Abia N’ Aberdeen, as well as other distinguished guests.
