Azode Emerges State Chairman as Government Lifts Ban on Operations of Road Transport Workers’ Union in Abia

The ban placed on the operations of National Union Of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Abia State has been lifted.

The Commissioner for Transport, Dr Chimezie Isaac Ukaegbu disclosed this when he met with a delegation of the Union led by the National Deputy Chairman Alhaji Aliyu Isaa Ore

Ukaegbu noted that the development was as a result of the present administration’s commitment to fairness and a better transport environment.

He used the opportunity to convey the governor’s message of support and contribution to a more convenient transport system in Abia State.

Responding, the National Chairman, NURTW Alhaji Musiliu Akinsaya (MC Oluomo) represented by the National Deputy Chairman, Alhaji Aliyu Isaa Ore thanked the Commissioner for his contribution to the actualization of this development.

He further promised that the Union will carry out its activities in the state inline with the policies and objectives of Governor Alex Otti.

On his part, Mr Chukwuma Azode, (China) who emerged as the Chairman promised to pilot the affairs of the Union in the State in accordance with the goals of the state.

Azode stated that the era of lawlessness was over describing the lifting of the ban as a fresh opportunity to improve the face of transport in the state.

Other Members Of The Executive Include Chief Chuks Isaac, Ephraim Promise , Chief Ogaranku, Chief Eze Okwuleghe, Abacha Pius, among others.
