Philanthropist, Chika Ikenga, Donates New Chemistry Laboratory MOUAU

The Founder of Eunisell Interlinked, Chika Ikenga has donated a mordern equipped Chemistry Laboratory to the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State.

Ikenga, while handing over the Laboratory to the Vice Chancellor University Professor Maduebibisi Ofor Iwe, on Tuesday, said he was interested in the discovery and development of new set of champions in the field of Chemistry.

He said he was also interested in seeing the success of MOUAU, noting that the he wanted to support the institution by solving one of the needs of the institution.

The donor encouraged the management of the University to reach out to other well meaning Nigerians as according to him, more philanthropists may be interested in playing one role or another in the University.

He expressed joy that Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia which is being sponsored by Eunisells, qualified for CAF Confederation Cup competition having finished third on the final table of the Nigerian Professional Football League for 2020/2025 season.

Ikenga therefore challenged Abia Warriors to go for the league title next season and also to take their would be CAF Confederation Cup opponents by surprise.

Responding, the Vice Chancellor of MOUAU, Professor Maduebibisi Ofor Iwe praised the donor, Chika Ikenga for his decision to contribute to the development of science education in the University and Nigeria at large.

Iwe noted that the newly equipped Laboratory would go a long way in aiding to the studies of Chemistry students which will in turn, produce graduates grounded in that field.

The Vice Chancellor admonished other well-to-do individuals from the South East to emulate Ikenga by supporting the Micheal Okpara University with their resources, as according to him, the institution should be seen as heritage of the Igbo nation.

Professor Iwe further charged the students of Chemistry to utilize the the new facilities in achieving academic science.

In his speech, the Head of Department of Chemistry in MOUAU, Dr. Okenwa Uchenna Igwe said that the Laboratory would spur his students and the department to a higher performance.
