Our Alliance with other Parties will Advance Good Governance –  Abia ADC

The African Democratic Party (ADC), Abia Chapter says it is forging alliances with other parties to ensure Abia and the country make progress in governance.

The party said it would win political positions including Abia governorship seat come 2027 to make the lives of citizens better and to create jobs.

The State Chairman of the Party, Mr Don Norman Obinna said this in Umuahia on Saturday during a stakeholders meeting to align with other parties for future progress.

Obinna said that many Abia politicians from different political parties have shown interest in joining ADC stressing the need for current membership to be active to secure their place.

He said that though the alliance could result to many party faithful to be displaced, its objective is not meant to destroy but to build the party.

According to him, he joined the coalition because he saw the need for Abia to have good governance.

Obinna however noted that  Abia Governor was working adding that it was not enough to reduce the state’s unemployment rate which stands at about 18. 7 per cent.

He pointed out that good governance should touch every area of the life of Abia residents adding that ADC was coming to change the story of Abia people.

Prof Uzoma Afamefuna, who was the Keynote Speaker at the event said that government in power were yet to address the real problem of the people.

Afamefuna, who lectures at the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Imo said that the good governance being clamoured   for would solve most of the problems especially insecurity.

He said a coalition was needed to reposition the country and strengthen democracy through a governance model that  would prioritize the citizens welfare.

“What ADC is doing today is what would advance Nigeria’s democracy because it would unlock Nigerians’ political potentials to decide on their leaders.”
